The start for the most prestigious and classic offshore regatta, the Round Gotland Race, moves from Sandhamn in to Stockholm and gets a new titel sponsor, the Technical Consultancy firm ÅF. The Race changes its name to ÅF Offshore Race. In 2011 thousands of spectators in the central Stockholm will be able to follow the Start of two categories while rest of the fleet will start in Sandhamn.
In the 2011 edition of the ÅF Offshore Race the big boats and the calssical wooden boats will race the new leg between Stockholm and Sandhamn. The rest of the fleet starts this year from Sandhamn as previously. From 2012 all boats is planned to start from the central Stockholm.
The Race Village at Djurgården, next to the Wasa Museum, is open for the public 4-6 of July 2011.
