Three different races in Stockholm City
2018-06-30 - ÅF Offshore Race
Today Saturday at 12:00 the first start of the inner archipelago race ÅF Inshore Race takes place. The course is start at Fjäderholmarna and via Nacka Strand, Lidingö, Djurgården and finish at Kastellholmen. It will take app. 3 – 4 hours to sail. The weather is good, app. 4 – 8 m/s and northerly winds.
There are five starts with 60 boats competing. Start 1 – 3 from the smallest to the biggest monohull. Start 4 is multihull and start 5 for the participants in the Nord Stream Race.
Among the monohulls there are some well-known names like for instance Carbonara, DataCom and Amarone, as well as Regina 2.0, the around the world sailor Take Off and the classic Bacchant. The five big Swan 50 boats competing in Nord Stream Race start together with the others but with another course.
At the same time there is dingy race “Lilla (little) ÅFOR” with up to 50 Optimist and Hansa. Here we have young people between 8 and 15 years who sail around Skeppsholmen, a way to get younger persons to find the joy of competing in a large regatta with a lot of spectators. It is a new three year’s project from KSSS.
